Ferns

Inspired by the ferns that blanket the Lake District fellsides throughout the changing seasons, this design captures the rich textures and layered patterns found across the landscape. In the warmer months, vibrant greens sweep across the hills, shifting to earthy browns as the colder seasons arrive, creating a constantly evolving natural tapestry.

Reflecting the experience of looking down across the landscape during long hikes through the fells, the design uses layered hand-drawn illustrations to recreate the depth, rhythm and organic movement of overlapping fern fronds. Created for wallcoverings and soft furnishings, the pattern brings the quiet beauty of the Lake District’s native landscape into interior spaces.
